Makita MakPac Tool Box

A Makita ImpactX screwdriver bit set arrived today, nicely packaged in one of their tool boxes.

I posted about the Makita tool boxes before, but this was my first hands-on experience. I learned 4 things.

1. The design is licensed. It says so at the rear of the tool boxes, similar to Bosch’s L-Boxxes. I didn’t know this, but it makes me feel a lot better about the products.

2. It’s quite nice. That was my first impression, but it was positive enough to inspire a quick post about the boxes.

3. I haven’t tested it yet, but the description says that these Makita boxes are:

Compatible with SP6000J/J1 system, Festool Sustainer cases and other similar modular storage systems.

That’s good to know, that these are Systainer-compatible. It’ll attach below newer T-Loc Systainers, similar to what you would to to stack older and newer Systainer designs together.

4. They’re lower priced than I reported in the past, and remember seeing them sell for. As of the time of this posting:

  • Small: $28
  • Medium: $30
  • Large: $33
  • X-Large: $43

These are now considerably less expensive than other modular tool storage boxes, except Dewalt’s TStak, but I think these are a step better.
