Over at Amazon, today’s deal of the day features a selection of Kershaw Leek folding knives.
The stainless steel version is on sale for $24. Other styles are a little more, but also on sale.
The Kershaw Leek knife, reviewed here, is a “gateway knife.” I splurged on one nearly a decade ago, and it opened my eyes as to what a good knife can offer. Before that, I had a couple of Gerber knives and multi-tools. The Kershaw was a big step up, and it started me down a path of folding knife enthusiasm.
The Leek is an assisted opener, and there’s a “safety” lock that prevents it from opening in your pocket.
It’s small enough to be extremely comfortable for EDC (everyday carry), while being large enough to be useful and practical. The blade was sharp out of the factory (I still remember being wowed by it), and has a useful shape for everyday use.
At $24, it’s a fantastic bargain!
A bunch of other styles are also on sale.

Should you buy one? YES! Years later, with better and nicer folding knives in my EDC rotation, I still use my Leek on occasion. $24 is an excellent price for what you get. Back in 2009, I spent $38 for mine.
In truth, I don’t know if the Leek would be my “first” gateway EDC knife anymore. I think that the Kershaw Dividend knife, reviewed here, grabs my attention a little better. Like the Leek, the Dividend is also made in the USA.
The Ruike P801, reviewed by Anthony here, is an excellent knife as well, regularly priced at $30. It’s not made in the USA, but it’s also not an assisted opener, a point in its favor in my book.
Bottom line, the Leek is a great knife, and at $24 it’s a great bargain. If you’re on the fence, it does go on sale every now and then – here’s a deal post from this past March. And if you skip or miss out on this deal, there are some other inexpensive knives that can serve as solid EDC offerings. I don’t say this to be discouraging, but to balance out the “everyone should buy this right away!!!” sentiments I feel whenever I see the Leek on sale at such low pricing. It’s hard not to be evangelical about the Leek when it is priced this low.

As always, know your local knife laws before buying something like this. Its size and style shouldn’t be a problem, but the burden is on you to be sure of that.
