A few people have asked about whether there are any good table saw deals for Black Friday this year. I have come across a couple, and am hoping that you guys will leave comments about any other especially good deals that you find.
Generally, I think you’ll only see Black Friday deals on portable table saws, and not larger stationary saws. Just because these saws are portable, doesn’t mean you can’t or shouldn’t use them in your home workshop.
Don’t forget that most portable table saws, miter saws, and other benchtop, corded, or cordless saws often come with general purpose starter blades. You’ll probably want to budget for a higher quality blade, at least at some point. I’d buy a good blade at the same time as a saw, only using the blade it comes with to make sure the saw is set up, calibrated, and working properly.
It’s too soon to know whether the deals mentioned here will be any better on or around Black Friday 2015, but they’re definitely at their holiday sale prices already.
Dewalt DW745
The Dewalt DW745 table saw has an excellent fence, and I really liked how it carried. Although not as compact as the Bosch GTS1031 table saw I reviewed, the DW745 carries easier.
It’s precise, it’s plenty powerful, and 2 years ago Dewalt updated it with a new wider ripping capacity. Dewalt has some new table saws out on the market, but none at this price point.
The DW745 is a bargain at $299. It’s been this price for a while, but stores (mainly Home Depot) have them packaged and advertised as a special buy. I believe that Dewalt might eventually only produce and sell these during holiday seasons, but I don’t think that’s happened yet.
All that said, do NOT buy it yet. It *might* be eligible for Dewalt’s annual holiday $25 off $100 or similar discount, and last year Dewalt really slashed the price in mid-December to clear out remaining saws as fast as they could. I would wait at least until the holiday promo is out, to see if the $25 discount applies, before buying one.

Craftsman
Over at Sears, their 10″ table saw and stand combo is on sale for $290 in stores, and even less online – I’m seeing a current price of $273. You could order online for in-store pickup, or home delivery.
It seems to have decent reviews, and also some nice features such as the included stand, extending work support wings, and a dust collection bag. It also has a laser guidance system (yuck).

Ridgid R4513 Table Saw with Folding Roller Stand
Ridgid’s R4513 portable table saw with roller stand has already dropped to its typical holiday price of $399. It sees solid user reviews year-round, and so it isn’t a “holiday special.”
My local Home Depot has a lot of these in stock – 14 of them – and so maybe there will be an additional discount or Black Friday discount.

Ridgid has another portable table saw, the R45161, which popped up a couple of years ago on sale, and then it appeared last year again, for $199. It seems that this particular saw is a “special buy” that only appears during the holiday season.

Did You Find Any Good Deals?
Bosch’s GTS1031 ($349 via Amazon) might be discounted this year, or maybe Bosch’s annual holiday discount will apply, or maybe both things will happen.
The same might be true for their 4100 table saw, which is hugely popular, but I don’t think so. That’s not really a DIYer or woodworker table saw, due to its higher price and more jobsite-friendly stand. The same could be said about the above Ridgid, but it does have a $100 discount right now, which I don’t think I have ever seen on the Bosch 4100 or Dewalt’s higher end jobsite saws.
There are bound to be a couple of $100 to $150 portable table saw deals, but I generally don’t have much faith in their quality.
Did you find any good table saw deals that you’d like to share? Maybe there was a deal you took advantage of in the past that we should keep our eyes out for this year?
In past years Ridgid had a granite-topped table saw that was heavily discounted around holiday time, but I haven’t seen it in a couple of years.
