In a comment to a recent post, Tom D asked whether we have any insights about which tool deals are particular popular with ToolGuyd readers.
Basically – which of our posted tool deal are readers actually buying right now?
We have affiliate relationships with a number of retailers, and so I sorted through some of the anonymous reporting data. Trends usually stand out: in a sea of 1x and 2x quantities, patterns emerge when more than say 5 readers buy the same thing.
So, it appears that this is what reader are buying:
It seems that I’m not the only one who thought this Streamlight Stylus Pro LED flashlight was a great deal at $14.03.
To everyone that got in on this deal – I hope you enjoy your new flashlight – please let us know how you like it!

My post about the Dewalt ToughCase wasn’t about any deal or discount. I posted about it because it has been on both my shopping list and posting queue for a while, and I just think it’s a good product at reasonable price. Apparently many readers feel the same.
I’ll likely order at least 2 of them myself before the end of the month.
Regarding the scale – keep in mind that this is sized for holding power tool accessories – screwdriver bits and the such. Remove a divider or two and you can fit drill bits or saw blades.
It seems that Amazon has matched Acme Tools’ Black Friday deal pricing on this Bosch 10″ axial glide miter saw.

Bosch 10″ dual bevel glide miter saw: $519
Bosch 12″ dual bevel glide miter saw: $599
This Dewalt 14pc drill bit set is on sale for $10. I bought one for my own use, and it looks like many of you did too! It’s still in stock and on sale at the time of this posting.

This Bosch 30′ range cross-line laser looks to be a fantastic deal at $40. It’s backordered right now, with a November 19th, 2020 estimated back-in-stock notice.
Order now to get in line for fulfillment – just because it’s not in stock doesn’t mean it can’t sell out further.
I’m surprised that the laser distance measuring tools aren’t as “hot deals” as I anticipated out of personal interest.

I thought this Dewalt 1/4″ metric socket set was a good price at $20. Now, it’s back up to $30. It might go on sale again for Black Friday or the holiday season, but that’s uncertain – we’ll have to check back.
Deal Status: Expired
This Dewalt 8pc SAE wrench set is still on sale for $20. Seems like a good deal, especially with the case. A couple of you bought it, affirming my believe that I’m not the only one who still uses SAE/inch/imperial tools.

I know some of you have bought this Metabo HPT (Hitachi) 10″ miter saw in the past and have had good experiences with it. I also think that $89 with free shipping is a great sale price.
Are readers going to be interested in an entry-priced 10″ non-sliding single bevel miter saw? You guys are saying “yes!”

We have since learned that this Bosch 21pc drill bit set is likely the same as the Skil set that used to go on sale for Black Friday for ~$10.
You know what? It also looks like the Craftsman drill bit set I bought years ago as part of a Sears Black Friday sale, and I know that Bosch used to make a lot of power tool accessories for Sears and Craftsman. That was a decent set for the money.
I bought the Dewalt 14pc drill bit deal instead, and so did many of you, but some of you are opting for this Bosch 21pc set. Please let me know how you like it!
Deal Status: Active but backordered
I impulse-bought a 2-pack of Milwaukee tape measures for $10 with FREE SHIPPING from Home Depot, and a lot of you are doing the same!
About 2/3 of the orders are for (1) 2-pack, the others are for (2) 2-packs. So that’s $10 for 2 or $20 for 4.
For those of you that ordered 4 tape measures, are you splitting them with a buddy, or stashing them in different locations?
Be sure to briefly test your tapes once you get them! I didn’t a few years ago, and that’s how I have a Stanley FatMax tape measure I never like using and felt too guilty to give away.

The Dewalt ToughSystem 2.0 tool box combo just went on sale for $149.
Why is there a spike in interest?
I took a closer look, and Home Depot is now offering FREE SHIPPING, where in-store pickup or paid express deliver were the only options before.
The individual components are also now available for “free ship to home.” That’s probably a good idea since inventory can be tricky to track down in stores.

This Dewalt DCS356C1 oscillating multi-tool kit is now sold out at Home Depot, but still available at Acme Tools. It’s a fantastic deal at $99.

We posted about some other Milwaukee power tool accessory deals so far, but this 20pc oscillating multi-tool blade and sanding pad set has been by far the most popular.
Home Depot seems to be selling out – they removed the ship to home option – but you can still opt for in-store pickup.
In my area, my closest stores have 58, 24, 49, 19, 7, and 18 in stock, so there’s no need to rush.
Deal Status: Active (but not for shipping)
You guys are buying a LOT of Milwaukee Packout tool boxes! (And so am I.)
The 3pc combo is a good buy, as is the “buy 3 things get a free dolly or tool bag” promo, but some of the previously discounted tool boxes bounced back up to their full pricing.
I’ll likely order one or two more of the smaller tool boxes before the end of the shopping season – especially if *hopefully* there will be an added coupon on the full-price non-promo items for Cyber Monday.

The Packout low profile compact organizer is on sale for $20, which is still pricy, but I’ll take any discount. I ordered a couple for myself, and quite a few of you did too, buying anywhere from 1 to 7. They’re still $20, but not available for immediate shipping.
Deal Status: Backordered
I guess I’m also to blame about the organizers selling out at Acme Tools.
The standard Milwaukee Packout 11 compartment organizer is still on sale for $35, and it’s in stock. Honestly, I thought this deal would be more popular given the $10 discount.
Maybe it is, and I’m just not seeing it – affiliate sales data is fragmented and in all different categories, this could be in one of the buried categories I didn’t look at yet.
Anyways, this is a good deal that some of you – and myself – took advantage of.

Home shipping is no longer available for this Dewalt 30pc MaxFit screwdriver bit and right angle attachment bundle. It’s a great deal at $15, in my opinion, and it looks like a lot of you agreed! You can still order for in-store pickup or paid delivery if you order a bunch of other stuff that would ship from a local store.
Deal Status: Limited to Store Pickup
I wouldn’t have thought this Milwaukee 120pc Shockwave screwdriver and drill bit assortment would be very popular, but there’s enough interest that the SKU stood out in affiliate reporting data.
Seems like a good deal for $25. I’d say you tell me, but that’s exactly what happened here.

This Milwaukee 70pc Shockwave screwdriver bit set is a FANTASTIC deal at just $10 and with free no-minimum shipping!
When I started working on this post, this is the first deal I checked, and I saw that shipping was disabled. But now it’s back?! If you can get this for $10 shipped to your door for free, that’s the best deal. If you have to opt for in-store pickup, that’s still a very good deal.
In-store, the advertised price is still $20.
I really like the variety you get here – lots of usable bits in a range of sizes outside the typical Phillips #2, Torx T25, and square #2 focus of most bit sets.
I might have to buy another set – one for the garage, and one for my portable kit.

Some of you asked us to keep an eye out for deals featuring the Dewalt DW735X planer, and we did.
I checked, and a few of you bought the planer package deal, which comes with the planer, spare blades, and table extension set, and a few have also went with the alternate deal that also gives you the Dewalt mobile stand at a great discount.
This isn’t a top seller, I’m more mentioning this deal for those of you that missed it.

I thought that these Milwaukee power tool accessory and Packout organizer bundles would be of greater interest. Maybe it’s because free shipping was deactivated? I checked, and this hole saw and reciprocating saw blade bundle is back in stock for “ship to home.”
I see a couple of orders for the Shockwave bit set, where you get a $25 ($20 on sale) organizer and 100pc bit set for $50.
I suppose, aside for the hole saw and Sawzall blade set, the other sets will mostly interest users who were previously interested but balked at the high pricing? Those sets are currently 50% off.
I’ll keep an eye on the Shockwave bit set (I already bought the hole saw and Sawall blade bundle) – as it looks to have a good selection of power bits and longer power bits.

This Dewalt oscillating multi-tool blade set seems like a good buy, and especially with the useful-looking accessory box.
I think the Milwaukee oscillating multi-tool blade set is a hotter deal, but these Dewalt blades are what you want for tool-free blade changes with your Dewalt oscillating multi-tool.

Did You Find This Useful?
I will usually look at affiliate reporting once or twice a year, most notably during “Cyber Week” to see if readers are buying any great tool deals that I might have missed. I believe there were 2 such deals last year that resulted from a quick scan of purchased SKUs.
I could ask in a post what are you buying, but most ToolGuyd readers are not active commentors. Looking at affiliate retailer reporting data, I can sort out the SKUs that are purchased via ToolGuyd links, at least for some retailers.
If you think this is helpful or at least interesting, I can do this again during the holiday season, although not too many times as sorting through the data is time-consuming and cumbersome.
What’s interesting – to me at least – and reassuring, is that some of the most popular deals are the ones I took advantage of myself. It seems that my “if I like it I should post about it” policy seems to be a good approach.
What Other Deals Are You Buying?
Are there any other tool deals you feel should or would be on this list?
Me? I just ordered a (Lego) Chevy Camaro.
