Over at BladeHQ, this Spyderco Dragonfly 2 mini folding pocket knife is on sale for $40. Shipping is $6, or free with an $89+ order. Alternatively, it’s $46 from Amazon, with free shipping.
I bought a similar knife 4 years ago – the Dragonfly 2 with serrated blade. While I can’t say it’s frequently carried as part of my EDC rotation, it is a much-loved knife.
The Dragonfly 2 is very small, with just a 2.25″ knife blade and 5.56″ overall length. It weighs just 1.2 ounces. It’s so small it would probably be at home on your keychain.
Despite its small size, the Spyderco Dragonfly 2 is a very usable knife. It’s comfortable to hold, and if my memory is accurate, it was sharp and very ready for business right out of the box.
I like the Dragonfly 2 as a multi-tool companion. Sometimes I like to carry a larger folding knife, but if I have a multi-tool on or with me, and don’t have room for a full-size folding knife, it’s often the Dragonfly 2 that gets pocketed or packed away.

Spyderco makes these knives in Japan.
I ordered the serrated version from Amazon, because I wanted to see how well Spyderco’s SpyderEdge serrated blade style worked. Thinking back, I sometimes wish I bought the plain edge blade version of this knife, although the serrations due come in handy at times.
The Dragonfly 2 has a lockback blade lock, fiberglass-reinforced nylon (FRN) handle grip, lanyard hole, “Spydero hole” for blade opening, and wire clip.
