About a week ago, I was about to pull the trigger on some Bessey bar clamps that I kept adding and removing from my Home Depot cart, since they were on sale, when I noticed a shipping charge.
For some reason, the a pair of 24″ clamps wouldn’t ship free, while the 50″ clamps were eligible for free shipping on a $45+ order.
That was odd. Then it was marked as eligible for free shipping, but wasn’t available for purchase. Now, they look to be on sale and eligible for free shipping again.
Well, that was weird, but at least it was brief. I’m not the only one that noticed.

Is it just me or did Home Depot recently remove the free shipping to home on orders over $45 from everything under $35.
In the past everything I ever ordered from home depot used to qualify, now I just put together an order and nothing does.
I even went back and checked items from the past and they no longer qualify.
Did I miss an announcement or policy change, have you heard anything?
I didn’t think too much of the shipping charge on those clamps until Avi’s email came in a couple of days ago.
The 24″ clamp, marked at $34.97, was the one that mysteriously and briefly carried a shipping charge.
But now that I’m prepping this post, I can’t seem to find a single shippable item under $45 that isn’t eligible for the long-lasting “free shipping on $45+ orders” promo. I did find one item under $45 – a Milwaukee bit set – that ships for free without requiring a minimum order amount.
So what I’m thinking is that maybe this was a temporary glitch?
For those of you that shop at Home Depot online, did you notice any oddities about their free shipping over $45+ policy, and if so did they go away or are they still there?
As of the time of this posting, I couldn’t seem to find a single example of a sub-$45 item not being eligible for their free shipping over $45+ order. Can you?
