I am sure you already saw mention of Dewalt’s $20 off $100 promo in my Father’s Day 2016 deal post, but I wanted to spin it off into its own discussion. I will be doing the same for some of the other power tool brand promo deals.
This deal comes around twice a year – around the winter holidays and then again in mid-May for Father’s Day. This time around, it ends June 19th, 2016.

There’s no need to rush into things, this deal will be around for a few weeks. Popular tools might sometimes sell out, but that should only result in delayed shipping.
I take advantage of deals like this to stock up on ToughSystem tool boxes, which as of the time of this posting do NOT seem to be eligible for the deal. I’m not seeing a $20 discount at checkout. Bummer.
And I also stock up on power tool accessories, and I would buy a couple of battery packs if I didn’t already have plenty.
Less often than power tool accessories, I’ll use holiday discounts as the final push to get me to buy a new corded or cordless power tool or fixture. Clamps and tool stands are also eligible for the $20 off $100+ savings.
It’s a great time to buy some bare tools too, if you already have a charger and batteries from a kit.
Actually, it can be a good time to buy into the platform. Dewalt’s premium saw kit is priced at $259, or $239 after discount. Or, you can buy the bare tool for $99 after discount, and a 5.0Ah starter set – not sold by Amazon direct at the moment, for $120.
Alternatively, there’s a double charger with 4.0Ah battery for $139 after discount, and 18V adapter starter set with charger and (2) 2.0Ah batteries for $110 after discount.
You could buy a 5.0Ah battery pack for $119, or 2 for $159 (sorry, the 2-pack isn’t eligible, but be glad it’s not back to $199), and there are 2 charger options, one eligible for the discount, and the other not.
You get the idea – you can sometimes piece-together a kit for less than the price of a kit, if you don’t mind the absence of a fitted hard shell case.
I’m not sure if I’ll be buying anything this time around. We’re still unpacking, which makes it tough to take inventory of what I might need or not need to replenish accessories-wise.
Will you be buying any new Dewalt tools during this promo period?
