The gotchas? The drill is Dewalt’s holiday special, and the 2 saws are the regular non-premium combo versions.
Last year I said I thought this was a fantastic deal at $499, and the sentiment remains. This is a great deal even if you don’t need everything the kit offers.

This Milwaukee M18 combo kit was $599 last year. It’s on sale for $499 this year, likely to compete evenly with the Dewalt kit.
You get a nice selection of tools. As with the Dewalt kit, this is a great bargain even if you can’t immediately use every tool in the kit.

Which Should You Buy?
Oh, and the deal ends at 4am ET 12/2/2016.
So… the Dewalt kit comes with a brushless oscillating multi-tool. (Milwaukee’s has a brushed motor, but is still quite good – read more here.) The Milwaukee kit has an impact wrench. The Dewalt kit has a Bluetooth speaker, the Milwaukee kit an air blower. With Dewalt’s you get a cut-off tool/angle grinder. But is it the one you want?
The Dewalt kit comes with 2.0Ah compact Li-ion battery packs, the Milwaukee kit comes with XC 3.0Ah battery packs.
Which tools do you need most?
Which platform do you want to buy into?
Which kit would you have to spend more to make complete to your liking?
I wish I could tell you which I’d buy right now, but it’s not an easy choice. The easy way to decide is to look at the savings. Given that the Milwaukee was $599 last year, and Home Depot has both the Dewalt and Milwaukee sets on sale for $499 today, I think the Milwaukee is the better “deal,” although both are quite good. Based on that alone, I might lean more closely towards the Milwaukee.
